University is now at an end and im really excited to begin my own style without any guidance. It's a scary thought though.

I have an exhibition of my degree work from the 5th June - 11th June, in the Llandaff Campus, UWIC, on Western Avenue, Cardiff. Check it out and leave comments if you wish!!!

Hmm, so summer time is the best time of year. Only the good old british summer is well, the same as winter really. So this year I thought I had to entertain myself, so set myself the challenge of making something I've never made before.

So of course I chose an item of clothing...a skirt.
There didnt seem to be any skirts on the market at the moment that really caught my eye. So I searched for some lovely fabric.

This summer I'm really into the bohemian and gypsy type theme. which im going to look at when im back in uni I think. Anyways, thinking about what influences this style I thought about florals and authentic chic.
I found this gorgeous patterned fabric up in Pontypridd and decided to use it. So following a burda pattern I attempted it and this is what I made...

Hey guys,
Im currently looking for any sort of work experience through out textiles. If you know of anyone taking on students for work exp. could you let me know. As i've tried a few companies and designers and am getting nowhere.

I guess its hard at the moment with the current financial and economic situation but it doesnt neccessarily have to be paid work exp.

Also if there are any designers who are willing for me to 'shadow' them for a couple of days then please get in touch. It would be much appriciated.

thanks,

P.s Im constantly looking for work exp. so if you dont reply straight away its fine, i'll still be looking for it in a couple of months time, so get in touch! =D

So, I've almost got half my work up on the website, it seems to take ages, but never mind its all good fun!

I went to see New Designers on thursday and was amazed by what I saw. The standard of work was just incredible, Im soo excited to enter my third year, but I'm pretty scared too. New Designers has opened my eyes slighlty, and I now know what is needed of me. I hope to enter it next year.

Im also tryin to set up some work experience with any designers or places that could help me with making textiles. So if any body does know of anything that could help me, please let me know.

anywho I shall sign off for today and get blogging again soon

Well, this is quite scary! I've never really written a blog before. I'm just finishing my second year of uni now, and I can't quite believe how fast its gone.

So now all my practical work is handed in, i want to do something for myself over the summer, as i don't often have chance to make things for myself during term times. I've decided to concentrate on myself and what better to look at as a theme for this....Myself! lol. It sounds quite vain I know but i quite looking at 'family' as a theme and i've looked at my nan, my granddad, my mam and step dad so now i think it's time to concentrate on myself.

...I should find out who I really am and try to push this within my textiles work...
